‘Gary Kirsten will be fired’: Ex-Pakistan star predicts ‘tata bye bye’ for coach after CT 2025

Ex-Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has claimed that Gary Kirsten would be fired as the white-ball coach after Champions Trophy (CT 2025) in February

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has predicted Gary Kirsten to be fired as the side’s white-ball coach after the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Despite Babar Azam & co’s debacle at the T20 World Cup, both the captain and the coach have retained their positions and will lead the side in the marquee tournament in February 2025.

‘Tata bye bye’ for Gary Kirsten after CT 2025?

Ali claimed that Kirsten & co. won’t be successful as they stepped into Pakistan politics plaguing the cricket team, adding that it would be a great achievement if the team made it to the top four in CT 2025.

Congratulations to Gary Kirsten. He will be at the helm of the team till the Champions Trophy. However, he will be fired after the Champions Trophy. I am saying this now that it will be tata, bye bye for him. It will be a big achievement for Pakistan to make it to the top four. They have also stepped into the politics of Pakistani cricket. They won’t be successful,” Basit Ali said in a video on his YouTube channel.

Another day, another camp for Pakistan

At the connection camp organised by the PCB in Lahore, several key issues affecting the team, including unity, were addressed. A decision has been taken to let Babar Azam and Shan Masood continue as the captains for the white and red-ball formats respectively. The camp was yet another attempt made by the PCB to hit the reset button following a horrible run in 2024 so far.

As per reports, the players have also expressed their concerns over being unable to communicate with top officials and demanded someone act as a bridge between them and the top officials. Meanwhile, the reports suggested that the board has agreed to the demands and will set up a two-member independent committee to oversee enhanced communication between the players, management, and various PCB departments.
