Gary Kirsten on hold, Azhar Mahmood head coach in PAK vs NZ T20I series

PAK vs NZ: Not Gary Kirsten, Azhar Mahmood appointed as head coach for Pakistan Cricket Team ahead of 5-match PAK vs NZ T20I series

Gary Kirsten’s appointment as head coach of Pakistan Cricket Team has been put on hold. In the meantime, the Men in Green will be mentored by Azhar Mahmood for the five-match PAK vs NZ T20I series. On the other hand, Gary Kirsten is currently the batting coach of Gujarat Titans in IPL.

“Former Pakistan fast bowler Azhar Mahmood has been named as the head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand. The matches will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from 18-27 April,” the PCB said in a statement.

On the other hand, Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the senior team manager. Babar Azam will be leading the team again after leaving the captaincy following the ODI World Cup. The Men in Green are currently taking part in a military fitness camp in Kabul.
