The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 mini auction is over, with all franchises strengthening their teams to their liking. A total of 30 players were sold out of the 165 presented at the auction.
With an additional Rs 1.5 crore in the pot, each team were looking to bring in the best players from the 165 players on the short list for the mini auction. While the first auction was all about building the core group of each franchise, teams were looking to bolster their line up at WPL 2024 auction going into the next season.
Among Indians, pacer Kashvee Gautam got the highest bid in the WPL Auction on Saturday when she was picked Gujarat Giants for a whopping 2 crores. Gautam, who is 20 years of age, had a base price of Rs 10 lakh in the auction. Gujarat Giants and Uttar Pradesh Warriors both made bids for Gautam before the former secured Gautam’s services for the 2nd edition of the WPL tournament. In another payday for an under-19 skipper, UP Warriors paid Rs 1.3 crore to 22-year old Karnataka batter Vrindra Dinesh.
