It was in 1983 that Kapil-Dev led India first won World Cup. This changed the course of Indian cricket forever as millions started following the game. In 1989, a chubby 16-year-old teenager Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar made his debut and went on to become one of the game’s greatest batsmen. In 2007, young India, led by MS Dhoni, won the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup, which led to the birth of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.

After 28 years, in 2011, MS Dhoni-led India gave billions of fans a reason to rejoice as India won the ODI World Cup for the second time. With Asia Cup & ODI World Cup coming in a few months in 2023, India will eye to break the Trophy drought, which has seen them not winning any major Trophies since 2013.
