The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will conduct fresh fitness tests for centrally contracted players ahead of the series against Bangladesh. This comes as a part of the board’s attempts to revamp the team after the debacles in the ODI and T20 World Cup. As per Cricket Pakistan, the tests will happen for al the players who are a part of the Test squad on August 10.
Pakistan stars to have fitness tests yet again!
As per the report, the Pakistan cricketers will be subjected to five or six tests to determine their fitness as per international standard. The efforts of the PCB to reform the side comes ahead of Pakistan’s hectic international schedule. The two-match Test series against Bangladesh will start from August 21.
Earlier this year, the Pakistan cricketers took part in an fitness camp organized by the Pakistan Army in Kakul. The camp saw the cricketers performing various drills, including sprinting uphill with a boulder held above their heads and other intense training programmes meant for Army officials.
The goal of the camp was get the side fit and prepared for the T20 World Cup. However, it came to no use as Babar Azam and co. exited the tournament after the group stage as they failed to make it to the Super 8.
