Forget IND vs PAK, Rohit Sharma & Co. should be wary of USA threat after hosts beat Pakistan

T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma & Co. play Pakistan on June 9 at Nassau County stadium, followed by the match vs USA on June 12.

When the groups and schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 was announced, with USA, Canada, Ireland, India, and Pakistan in the same group, one would have only expected the Asian giants to go through. But the equations have changed hugely after the PAK vs USA encounter in Dallas on Thursday, where the hosts won in the super over.

T20 World Cup

And it wasn’t any flash in the pan victory for the USA. They are a team of Indian, West Indian, South African, Kiwi, and Pakistani expats, who are no duds, and can beat any side on a given day. First, they got the better of Bangladesh this month 2-1, in a bilateral series. Then come the T20 World Cup they decimated Canada in their opening game, and now it was the turn of Pakistan.

After PAK vs USA, a Threat to India as Well

Yes, of course, the all is not well in the Pakistani camp, led by Babar Azam, but their loss is a clear signal to Team India, that they cannot be complacent against them. Majorly, the USA team has played with relatively easier opponents, but still they have good stats all over. For all purposes, they could be the emerging Afghanistan team from the west, who have players to deliver.
