‘Forget ICC rankings’ Kris Srikkanth blasts Team India to give more chances to Kuldeep Yadav

Krishnamachari Srikkanth advocates for more playing time for Kuldeep Yadav in Indian Cricket Team

Former India Cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth has slammed the India Cricket Team. The fore BCCI Chief Selector has urged the team to forget the ICC rankings. On the other hand, he wants players who deserve a chance to get more game time, rather than the other over-rated players.

Srikkanth has been in a fiery mood after India’s humiliating loss in the Boxing Test. Ahead of the IND vs SA 2nd Test, he has claimed that India’s Test and T20I team is over-rated. Furthermore, he has cited Kuldeep Yadav’s example stating the player needs more game time.

“We have to forget ICC ranking. We are always 1-2, 1-2. It’s a combination of having over-rated cricketers and people who have not performed up to their potential. Or there are players who have not enough chances like Kuldeeep (Yadav),” Srikkanth spoke on his YouTube channel.

India has been topping the ICC rankings charts for quite sometime. Srikkanth believes that India are always ranked at the top and therefore needs to forget that. He has claimed that the players who have not got enough chances like Kuldeep Yadav should get more game time to perform at the highest level.

“If you want to be the best team, you should be capable of being the giants in their home grounds. That is what we did when Rishabh Pant was firing. But you can keep on talking that we scored in Australia, we scored in England. You can sing the same song, you won’t move forward if you rest on past laurels. You have to just look at how you have performed in the last 2 years, last 18 months,”
