For first time ever, India to sport ‘Pakistan’ on Asia Cup 2023 Jerseys

Four matches will be played in Pakistan during Asia Cup 2023

For the first time, team India will don Pakistan’s name on their jerseys during Asia Cup 2023 event. Pakistan, who are co-hosts for the Continental Cup along with Sri Lanka will kick off the Asia Cup 2023 tournament by playing against Nepal on August 30. India, who had earlier mentioned their reluctance to travel to Pakistan, will play all their matches in Sri Lanka. However, since Pakistan are primary host, India will have the country name on the jerseys.

The blockbuster match will be played in Kandy, with a full house expected at the stadium. Not only one time, but the two rivals can face each other two more times if they manage to make Super 4s and the final of the Continental Cup.

India missed the opportunity to enter final of the Asia Cup 2022. But this time, Rohit Sharma & Co would be eager to win Asia Cup for the eighth time.

The West Indies series did not go as per plan, as a few of the fringe players did not grab opportunities. With Jasprit Bumrah, and KL Rahul set to return for Asia Cup, team India would be hoping to get the ideal playing XI ahead of the World Cup.

While the bowlers are doing well, the batting has been a bit edgy with no solid numbers three and four. Also, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not spend a considerable amount at the crease during West Indies series.

During the Asia Cup, the two senior batters would be keen to make a statement by being amongst the runs. India will have training camp ahead of the start of the Continental Cup.
