Focus the process: Rajat Patidar determined to follow process & not think about results

MI vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Rajat Patidar explains importance of following process & not thinking about results

Mumbai Indians won their second game of IPL 2024 by comfortably beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Jasprit Bumrah set the stage on fire by bagging a stunning fifer. Despite a loss, Rajat Patidar slammed a fine fifty to help RCB post a big total on the board. He claimed that he was trying to keep things simple and follow the process.

Focus on Process & not on Results

Batting first, RCB went on to amass 196 runs on the board. After the early departure of Virat Kohli and Will Jacks, Patidar and du Plessis steadied RCB’s ship. Patidar slammed 3 fours and 4 sixes to register a 26 ball fifty knock to set the precedence of the game.

“For me it is important to focus more on the process rather than the results. I was trying to keep the things simple on my mind and follow the process,” said Rajat Patidar after the game.

“Initially, my plan was to get set. Mumbai’s wicket is good with the bounce so it is helpful for the batters. MI batted well while we lacked a bit in bowling. They also got a huge dew advantage. A196-200 run score was enough. They got the extra cushion owing to dew,” Patidar added.

Jasprit Bumrah rocks RCB

RCB batter Rajat Patidar went on to heap huge praises on Jasprit Bumrah claiming him to be a perfect legendary bowler. Bumrah bowled in full swing, unleashing his fury on RCB. His five-wicket haul was enough to break Bengaluru’s back. Bumrah’s victims included the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Saurav Chauhan and Vijaykumar Vyshak.

“He is a legendary bowler and I am no one to rate him. Overall, he is the perfect bowler,” Patidar concluded.
