As the India Cricket Team will be busy playing the Border Gavaskar Trophy in November-December, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav on the other hand is all ready to play domestic cricket. According to reports, the destructive batter is ready to play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
SKY will be playing for Mumbai and is set to be free for the matches as well as the knockouts. Now this is important for him with the ICC Champions Trophy and the IPL 2025 season looming large on the horizon.
SKY to be available from December
The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy begins on 23rd November. But the Indian captain won’t be available to take part in the initial phase of games. Instead, SKY will, however, be available from early December, which means he will be available in the latter half of the round stage and the knockouts.
“Yes, SKY will not be available for the first few games of SMAT. He will return to action for the last few league games (in early December), and the knockouts,” a source in the Mumbai Cricket Association told The Times of India.
Recently, Suryakumar Yadav helped the Men in Blue to complete a successful tour of South Africa. Team India took on the Proteas for a 4 match T20I series, which SKY and Co won convincingly with a 3-1 margin.
