Flat deck or turner? Ravindra Jadeja gives his verdict on IND vs ENG Rajkot Pitch

Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday gave his verdict on the pitch for the IND vs ENG 3rd Test, starting on Thursday (February 15) in Rajkot.

Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday gave his verdict on the pitch for the IND vs ENG 3rd Test, starting on Thursday (February 15) in Rajkot.

Jadeja revealed that the pitch looks flat and hard and it is likely to stay good for first two days.

“Here the wicket is flat and hard, but depends on what they have prepared. Sometimes you get 37 wickets in three matches (days), but this wicket looks good”, Jadeja said in the press conference.

“Here the wicket behaves differently in every game. Sometimes it stays flat, sometimes it turns, sometimes it plays well for two days and then turns. I believe it will play well first and then slowly it will break and the ball will turn”, he added.

‘Won’t dive unless necessary’

Jadeja, who is returning after recovering from a hamstring injury, has insisted that he won’t dive much during the game to protect himself from any injury.

“The idea is to give my 100 percent but protect my body. Try not to dive unless absolutely necessary”, the all-rounder said.

Notably, Jadeja was ruled out of the second Test is Visakhapatnam following a hamstring which he picked up in the opening Test in Hyderabad.
