Flash flood emergency declared in Miami, PAK in trouble as next three matches could be washed out

For the next three days, thunderstorm is predicted in Lauderhill, Florida., that will affect the IND vs USA, IRE vs USA, and PAK vs IRE matches.

The Sri Lanka vs Nepal T20 World Cup June 11 match was suspended due to rain, in Florida, and now it seems, USA vs IRE match on June 14, IND vs CAN on June 15, and then PAK vs IRE on June 16 could face the same fate. Various sources claim that a life threatening flash flood emergency has been declared in Miami, Florida.

Weather Forecast for Lauderhill, Florida

The next set of Group A matches take place in Lauderhill, Florida, in the next three days, which is just 30 miles away from Miami, and obviously those matches will be affected as well. On 14th, on the day of USA-IRE match, there’s a100% chance for thunderstorm. So there’s every chance the match could be washed out.

IND vs CAN on 15th has an 86% chance of a thunderstorm, which may lead to another washout. But in the context of the T20 World Cup, it is not really an important match, as India has already made it to the Super 8, while Canada is not in the reckoning. Once again, 16th will be a rain-marred day, where there is a 80% chance of a thunderstorm.

Pakistan Qualification Scenarios

One of the teams that will be highly hit from the floods in Florida will be, Pakistan. Let’s assume all the three matches are washed out, then in that case India and USA go through to Super 8, and Babar Azam & Co. miss out. If the USA-IRE match is washed out, then USA will be on 5 points, and then Pakistan will be out, even if they win their last match.

Let’s assume, if PAK vs IRE match is not possible, then of course Pakistan will be out. In ideal scenario, Pakistan would want Ireland to win, and post a win in their match too. So, it’s difficult.
