Aaron Johnson also took home the courtesy of hitting the first boundary of T20 World Cup 2024. Another opener Navneet Dhaliwal hit the first six of the tournament when he danced down the track and heaved Harmeet Singh for a six over deep extra cover.

Unnecessary run-out

USA batter Pargat Singh became the first batter to be run out in the T20 World Cup 2024 when he made an error in judgement. With Canada in a good position, Pargat scampered for a second run which was never on. The batter dived in a desperate attempt to save himself but fell short of the crease by quite some margin.

Partnerships

The first 50-run partnership was formed by Canadian batters Navneet Dhaliwal and Nicholas Kirton whey they added 62 runs for the third wicket.

Andries Gous and Aaron Jones were the first to build a 100-run partnership when they added 131 runs.
