First 500 of Cricket World Cup? Shaheen Afridi & Co could face embarrassment in PAK vs SA

Shaheen Afridi & Haris Rauf have looked ineffective as Pakistan look to face South Africa in World Cup clash.

Shaheen Afridi and other Pakistani bowlers will have their task cut-out against the strong South Africa batting line-up in the upcoming PAK vs SA World Cup match in Chennai. It must be noted that the Pakistani side has lost three matches in a row with the bowling line-up looking out of touch.

Pakistan bowling has been poor in World Cup

After rattling Netherlands in their first match, Shaheen Afridi and Co. went on to concede 340+ against Sri Lanka. Against arch-rivals India, Pakistani bowling line-up looked venom less as the Men in Blue chased down the total of 192 runs in just 30.3 overs. Facing Australia in Bengaluru, Pakistan bowlers were smashed all over the park as the Aussies posted 367/9. Afghanistan too went on to chase 282 set by Pakistan as they registered their first ever ODI win against Babar Azam and Co.

On the other hand, South Africa have crossed the 300-run mark in four out of their five matches. Except the Netherlands, the Proteas have thrashed some prominent bowling line-up in the World Cup so far including Australia, England and Sri Lanka.

Insidesport

The PAK vs SA match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai. The match will be played on October 27 (Friday). The pitch at the venue generally suits the slow bowling once the ball gets a little old. However, the Pakistani spinners Shadab Khan and Usama Mir have failed to make any impact with the ball.

On the other hand, Klaasen, De Kock, and Markram have been severe against the spin bowling. It remains to be seen whether who will come on top between the Proteas batters and Pakistani bowlers.
