Finally! Mayank Yadav returns for LSG, looks to impress Indian selectors before May 25

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) enjoys the return of teeraway pacer Mayank Yadav, who makes his much-awaited return against Mumbai Indians

The wait is finally over! Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fans are elated as their tearaway fast bowler Mayank Yadav is set to make a comeback against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday. Mayank, known for his searing pace that can touch over 150 kmph, missed the last five games due to a side strain injury.

Prior to his injury, Mayank had taken the IPL 2024 by storm. In just 9 overs bowled, he scalped six wickets at an outstanding bowling average of 9.0 and a phenomenal strike rate of 9.0, leaving a trail of rattled batsmen in his wake. His return is a major boost for the LSG, who lost three out of their last five matches without the 21-year-old.

Mayank eyes to impress selectors ahead of May 25

It would be fair to say that Mayank endured his injury in the worst time possible. The Delhi-born lad was making round for his X-factor bowling and there were murmurs that he could also be in contention for India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.

While BCCI announced India’s preliminary squad on Tuesday, Mayank can still make a statement. The deadline for the final squad announcement for the mega ICC event is May 25. That’s where Mayank would look to create impact and could turn selectors heads as a probable option to travel as reserves, to say the least.
