The Germans opted to move to a secluded hotel in Al-Ruwais, an hour and half from the capital, to develop ‘team spirit’. The Neuer-led side are eager to restore their authority at the world stage after being knocked out in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“We want to develop a team spirit there that will carry us through the tournament — and for as long as possible,” Team official Oliver Bierhoff explained.

The Hansi Flick-coached German side will begin their campaign at FIFA WC 22 against Japan on November 23. Germany are placed along side Japan, Costa Rica and Spain in Group E. Under Flick, German got a major boost with eight consecutive wins at the beginning of his role after taking over from Joachim Low.

Flick will opt for 4-2-3-1 formation in the upcoming World Cup. He will have a mix of young talents and experienced players like Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich to choose from.
