PSL franchise teams are unwilling to host PSL 2025 alongside IPL 2025 fearing unavailability of ace players

The Pakistan Super League franchise teams are unwilling to host PSL 2025 alongside IPL 2025. In a major clash, both the T20 Leagues were slated to take place at the same time next year. But now as per the latest reports, the PSL teams are not too keen to host PSL at the same time as that of IPL 2025.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) in general is held in February every year. But, since Pakistan will be hosting ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the same time next year, this move sees PSL being shifted to a later phase.

IPL vs PSL?

Now the question arises, why PSL teams are unwilling to host the league alongside IPL? The answer is rather simple – the availability of top players across the world. Ace players from all across the globe prefers to play in IPL and would ditch PSL if both the leagues happen at the same time.

As per the initial plans laid down by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), PSL 2025 is to take place from 7th April to 20th May. Fresh reports in Pakistan claim that the PSL franchise teams have asked the PCB in finding a fresher window to host the PSL in 2025.

Along with the recent developments, there were initial plans to host the PSL 2025 playoffs at a neutral venue. England was tipped to be the place to host the playoffs for Pakistan Super League in 2025.
