Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has made the 10000 runs in ODI cricket and has joined teammate Virat Kohli and idol Sachin Tendulkar in the top 3 fastest players to reach the milestone. The right-handed opener reached the landmark in the IND vs SL clash in the Asia Cup 2023. Rohit hit a straight six over the bowler’s head to reach the 10,000-run mark with style.

The fastest player to reach 10000 runs in ODI is Virat Kohli. The batter reached the landmark in just 205 innings. Kohli is also the quickest player in terms of time taken to reach the landmark (10 years and 67 days). 

2nd Fastest to 10000 runs in ODI

Rohit Sharma has become the 2nd fastest player to reach 10000 runs in ODIs. Rohit, who at one point held the record of being one of the slowest to reach 2000 ODI runs, has now broken his idol Sachin Tendulkar’s record by 18 innings. Rohit reached the milestone in 241 innings and is 36 innings behind Kohli.

The 3rd fastest player to reach the landmark is Sachin Tendulkar. The Little Master is the one who created the record and held it for 17 years before Kohli broke his record by 55 innings. Tendulkar reached the milestone in 259 innings against Australia in 2001
