Gujarat’s Urvil Patel has etched his name in the history books by becoming the fastest Indian batter to score a century in T20 cricket. The opener achieved this remarkable feat against Tripura in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, reaching his century in just 28 balls.
During Gujarat’s stunning chase of 156 runs in just 10.2 overs, Urvil smashed an unbeaten 113 off 35 balls, including 12 sixes and seven fours, at an extraordinary strike rate of 322.86. Only Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan, who scored a century in 27 balls against Cyprus earlier this year, has achieved a faster T20 century.
Fastest T20 centuries
India’s star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had the record of fastest hundred in 32 balls in the same tournament in 2018. The list also feature Rohit Sharma, who had scored his T20 ton in 35 balls against Sri Lanka in 2017.
