There is no limit to the man! There is nothing that Virat Kohli can’t do. After a rare failure in the IPL 2024 season opener, the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) superstar scored his 100th fifty in T20 cricket. Chasing 177, the opener looked a class apart from all the other batters and reached the milestone in just 30 balls.
With wickets tumbling from the other side, the T20 great continued to march along. Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Rajat Patidar all left his side. The right-handed batter ended up with a well-made 77 with 11 fours and 2 sixes, while the next best score was 18 by Patidar.
All hail the King
Following his masterclass, fans hailed Virat Kohli as the T20 GOAT. The modern great is just the third batter to do so, taking just 361 innings to reach the milestone. The only two players who have more T20 fifties than him are Chris Gayle and David Warner.
