Munawar Faruqui featured in Star Sports’ coverage of the game between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans on Friday. The comedian was present during the pre-match show, alongside Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor and Star Sports’ expert panel. Faruqui’s presence put several viewers at unease.
Not only Star Sports, but JioCinema has also previously used Munawar social media presence for promoting IPL on their platform. But Star Sports got the wrong end of stick as they invited comedian to the their IPL show unlike Jio.
If Star Sports can invite Munawar Faruqui for a show then they should also invite Tiger Raja Singh to balance out the scales.

Faruqui and others were arrested for the alleged offences punishable under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint was filed by Eklavya Singh Gaud, son of BJP MLA Malini Laxman Singh Gaud. He complained regarding Faruqui’s remarks, while also accusing him of flouting COVID-19 rules.
