Gavaskar and Shastri pointed out that Imam-ul-Haq has inherited the habit of getting run out from his family, as both he and Inzamam-ul-Haq were often dismissed in the same fashion. For those unaware, Imam-ul-Haq is the nephew of former Pakistani cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Imam-ul-Haq dismissal
Imam-ul-Haq suffered a self-inflicted dismissal, managing just 10 runs off 26 balls in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against India on Sunday. Imam, after playing the ball towards mid-on, hesitated and ran casually towards the non-striker’s end, seemingly unaware of the imminent danger. Axar’s direct throw zipped past him, crashing into the stumps, leaving Imam well short of his crease.
Ravi Shastri highlighted that Imam-ul-Haq has been run out six times in his career, whereas Inzamam-ul-Haq holds the record for 46 run-outs in international cricket. He also recalled that Inzamam was run out against India in 2005, adding to his infamous history of dismissals in this manner.
