Indian young batter Prithvi Shaw has signed for Northamptonshire to play the remaining season of County Cricket after he was subsequently snubbed from the IND vs WI series. The 23-year-old opener is currently running his trade in the ongoing Duleep Trophy and will travel to England after the conclusion of the Duleep Trophy.
The Mumbai batter is playing for the West Zone and is tipped to play in the finals of the tournament which is set to take place from 12th July. After a not-so-decent IPL stint, Prithvi Shaw was yet again snubbed from the Indian team. The Men in Blue is currently traveling to the Caribbeans to take on West Indies.

Despite his poor form and not being the go-to guy for the BCCI selectors, Prithvi Shaw has showcased his class and has kept his run-getting ability at a high. In fact in domestic cricket, he has put up some stellar performances. Though he hasn’t played first-class cricket in the past six months, he stole the show when he hit a magnificent 379-run knock from 383 balls in Ranji Trophy against Assam back in January.

After a great entry to the Indian team, Shaw struggled to seal his spot and was plagued by being unable to bring in consistency. He was picked as a first choice for the Men in Blue back in 2020 and played against Sri Lanka back in 2021. Earlier in January he was selected in the Indian squad after spending 18 months in exile but didn’t feature in any game against New Zealand.
Off late he played for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023, but it was rather sub-par given the standards that he had set for himself. Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has won just 1 game out of the seven they have played so far. The side currently has 7 more games left to play in the remainder of the season.
