After being injured for quite some time, young Indian batter Riyan Parag has now returned to the nets. Now this is very good news for the India Cricket Team. The rising batter missed out on the South Africa T20I series with a shoulder injury. But now after completing his rehab, he is now back in the field.
Now this is a piece of significant news for Team India. While Riyan Parag is yet to achieve 100% match fitness he will be trying to get his name in the ICC Champions Trophy Squad. As things stand, Parag would be keen to make it to the IND vs ENG ODI and T20I squad to prove his worth.
Riyan Parag eyes ICC Champions Trophy squad
It is expected that the BCCI will be announcing both the IND vs ENG squad and the ICC Champions Trophy squad within the next few days. And Riyan Parag will be there in the mixes to make it to the big stage. After a brilliant outing in IPL 2024, his career fast-tracked and he got his India team call-up.
He was impressive in the only match that he played against Sri Lanka. While he failed to perform with the bat, he made the ball do the talking as he went on to scalp 3 wickets. But then after a shoulder injury, he went to the NCA to undergo his rehab and thus missed out on the T20I series against the Proteas.
As things stand, each and every player on the roster will be desperate to prove their worth and fight for a chance to make it to the ICC Champions Trophy squad. And Riyan Parag is no exception to the same. He has been good in IPL and domestic cricket and will be keen and determined to prove his worth if given the chance.
