Explained: Why Virat Kohli doesn’t post on social media?

Virat Kohli opened up at the RCB event where he answered the most common question, why is he not posting on social media?

Virat Kohli is one of the most expressive players in Indian cricket. He never holds back and openly shares his thoughts. Known for his strong presence on social media, Kohli is the most followed personality in India, making every post of his widely noticed. However, fans recently observed that he has stopped sharing personal updates, sparking curiosity. The cricketer has now addressed the reason behind this himself.

Virat Kohli answers the question of why he stopped posting on Social Media

Kohli remains the most followed cricketer on social media, yet he has stopped sharing personal life updates and achievements online. His posts now primarily consist of sponsored content or brand commitments, with little to no personal insights.

The 35-year-old player stated that keeping up with social media was consuming a lot of his energy. Therefore, he decided to step back from it and focus his energy on his goals instead.

“Posting about us winning the Champions Trophy is not going to increase the happiness in my heart. They all know that we’ve won the trophy, so me posting about it is not going to give us two trophies. The reality is going to stay the same. I look at it like that. People saying ‘oh, you’re amazing’ in the comments doesn’t matter,” he explained on RCB Summit.
“Technology when not attached to a goal can be quite distracting. It is something I have experienced in my playing career. Luckily, I grew up in a time when you didn’t have this thing in your pocket (hinting at a smartphone). It is much easier to keep it on the side… I don’t engage and post a lot these days and people are not happy about that. It is something that I have consciously tried to do. To keep up with that for me was way too much. It was taking away a lot of energy from me because I could utilise that in my game or life,” Kohli added.

How much Virat Kohli charges for a post on social media?

Hopper HQ’s findings unveil that Kohli commands an impressive fee for his Instagram posts, making him one of the most sought-after figures for brand endorsements and advertising campaigns. The report discloses that Kohli charges a substantial sum of Rs 14 crore for each individual post he shares on his Instagram account.
