Renowned cricket commentator and former New Zealand cricketer Danny Morrison recently shared his admiration for Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant in an exclusive conversation with InsideSport. Remarkable Comeback Story of Rishabh Pant
Morrison expressed his fascination with Pant’s ability to make a remarkable comeback after surviving a life-threatening car accident in December 2022. The accident, which occurred while Pant was travelling from Delhi to Roorkee, left him with serious injuries that required almost a year of recovery. Much of his rehabilitation took place at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where he worked tirelessly to regain his fitness.
“Rishabh Pant is fascinating because you think about him making a comeback. He has been amazing—really, that incident was life-threatening, and look at him now, coming back from that. He truly is another extraordinary talent,” Morrison told InsideSport.

Morrison highlighted Pant’s versatility and unorthodox approach to the game, praising him for his “outside the box” stroke-making abilities. Pant’s aggressive batting style, particularly as a left-hander, allows him to find different angles and score in unconventional zones, making him a nightmare for bowlers.
“Some left-handers can find different angles on the ballpark when they try to score in different zones, and that makes them unique. Pant is certainly one of those. He is one of those multifaceted guys who can open, bat at 4 or 5, or finish an innings. A top-class act,” Morrison added.
