Punjab Kings are missing star batter Liam Livingstone with an injury. The Englishman suffered a hamstring injury in the previous game against LSG. In the GT vs PBKS clash, Livingstone was not fit enough and thus Sikandar Raza gets his chance to play. PBKS will be hopeful that Livingstone will be ready and fit for the next game vs Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan told during the toss that Livingstone is injured. The Punjab outfits took a late fitness call on the Englishman before ruling him out of the Punjab Kings Playing XI vs GT. But InsideSport can confirm that the player is with the squad and has not returned home.
Precaution for Punjab Kings?
A Punjab Kings source informed InsideSport, “Livingstone is with the squad and has not returned home. The injury is not too serious but couldn’t make it for today.”
Punjab Kings decided not to rush the player during his injury. In fact, the team gave the chance to Sikandar Raza to play his part in the game. Even in the pre match Press Conference, assistant coach Trevor Gonsalves confirmed that Livingstone is recovering well.
“Livingstone is in much better shape as compared to how he was a couple of days ago. We will be taking a call on his inclusion in the playing XI tomorrow. The physios are working with him,” Gonsalves said.
