Jos Buttler has been roped in by the Gujarat Titans (GT). The flamboyant England white-ball captain was surprisingly released by the Rajasthan Royals (RR), the franchise that put the first paddle for their star. RR went on a bidding war with the Gujarat Titans (GT). Despite having a low purse of Rs 41 crore, RR went for Buttler as much as they could. They quit the bidding at Rs 9.50 crore before the Punjab Kings (PBKS) scooped in. Ultimately, he went to GT for a whopping Rs 15.75 crore.
Jos Buttler-Shubman Gill duo at IPL 2025
Gujarat Titans (GT) have swooped in one of the best opening duos as now Shubman Gill, the skipper and Jos Buttler will open for them. Previously, Gill opened with the likes of Matthew Wade, Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan. Now, Buttler will be a dangerous commodity. Injuries have plagued 2024 for Buttler, but has looked in great form after his return. He has dominated in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league and even scored a sensational fifty for England.
