Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan revealed that ex-India cricketer Ajay Jadeja refused to accept payment for his role as the mentor

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) CEO Naseeb Khan on Friday revealed that former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja refused to accept payment for his role as the mentor for the side in the ODI World Cup in 2023. Jadeja joined the side a month before the marquee tournament and played a crucial role in boosting the team’s confidence to defeat giants like England and Pakistan.

When Jadeja refused to take money from Afghanistan

The ACB CEO revealed that despite the board making multiple attempts to persuade Jadeja, he refused to accept any monetary reward and instead just wanted the side to do well.

Speaking to Ariana news, Naseeb Khan said, “We insisted multiple times but Jadeja refused to take any money from the Afghanistan Cricket Board for his services in the ODI World Cup 2023. His response was, If you play well, that is all the reward and money I need.”
