Ex-BCCI chief Srinivasan hands Rs 1 crore to Ashwin for taking 500 Test wickets and playing 100 Tests

Ashwin was also presented with a Sengol and a special blazer by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

Ravichandran Ashwin on Saturday was handed a cheque of Rs 1 crore by former BCCI chief N Srinivasan. The Indian off-spinner was also felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association for achieving the milestones of 500 Test wickets and 100 Test matches. Ashwin had a wonderful IND vs ENG series, achieving quite a few landmarks during the 5-match Test series.

Ravichandran Ashwin became only the second Indian bowler after Indian spin legend Anil Kumble to achieve the milestone of 500 wickets during IND vs ENG 3rd Test. He became only the 5th spinner in the whole world after Muthaiah Muralidharan, Shane Warne, Anil Kumble and Nathon Lyon to achieve this landmark.

Ashwin didn’t stop there. He also broke into the 100 Test club in the IND vs ENG 5th Test. He was commemorated by the Indian team with a special memento. However, after the end of the series, the gifts are flowing.
