Cuban taekwondo practitioner Robelis Despaigne, hailing from Santiago de Cuba, entered the world of MMA by making his debut against Katuma Mulumba at Titan FC 77 on June 3, 2022. Reports: Robelis Despaigne Joined UFC

In the 2012 Summer Olympics, he secured a bronze medal in the +80 kg event. His journey included a victory against Chika Yagazie Chukwumerije in the first round, but he faced a loss to Anthony Obame in sudden death during the quarterfinal.

Robelis Despaigne, an undefeated heavyweight with a 4-0 MMA record, has signed with the UFC. Despite the Dana White’s Contender Series being on hold until 2024, but the organisation is still signing fighters this year.

Robelis Despaigne, a heavyweight fighter, has joined the UFC’s heavyweight roster after a remarkable four-second knockout victory over Miles Banks at Fury FC 84 in Houston last Sunday. His signing was promptly announced following the win.

A strong right hand from Despaigne was all it needed to knock down Banks, earning Despaigne his fourth win in four professional fights, all ending in first-round knockouts. Despaigne, aged 35, entered professional MMA in June 2022 after a successful career in Taekwondo.

The UFC heavyweight division boasts formidable fighters such as Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall. Despaigne’s inclusion is a positive addition to this stacked division.
