Error 404: Ishan Kishan NOT found in Jharkhand’s Ranji Trophy clash despite Rahul Dravid’s advice

Ishan Kishan not playing for Jharkhand in Ranji Trophy, disobeys direct advice of Rahul Dravid

The curious case of Ishan Kishan continues. The southpaw cities mental issues and withdrew from the India Cricket Team off late. India head coach Rahul Dravid dismissed rumours that Kishan has been dropped from the IND vs AFG T20I series for disciplinary issues. But the player was asked to play in the Ranji Trophy to get the nod ahead of KL Rahul in upcoming IND vs ENG Test series.

But no no avail, Ishan Kishan is absent from Jharkhand’s Ranji Team against Maharashtra. Currently in the IND vs AFG series, it is Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson who have been tasked to keep behind the stumps.

It remains to be seen if Ishan Kishan gets a call up for the India vs England Test series. As for red ball cricket, KL Rahul is the designated keeper while KS Bharat remains as the backup choice. But with T20 World Cup on the horizon, it is imperative that Kishan joins the team and get some much needed game time.

While Kishan was asked to play Ranji Trophy, he remains missing from the team. Kishan hasn’t made himself available for the Ranji Team. “No, Ishan hasn’t contacted or told us anything about his availability. Whenever he tells us, he will walk into the playing XI,” Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) secretary Debasish Chakraborty told PTI.
