The ongoing India vs England series has been a long one, especially for the visitors, with the first match starting in January, and now ending in March only. Of course, to avoid physical and mental fatigue, enough gaps were kept between matches, and the English team is in full mood to utilise those breaks.
Like was the case in the break between the second and third Test, where England players spent their time in Abu Dhabi, for this break the team has separated across India, with some players spending own money, to stay and play golf in Bengaluru, as per a report in The Telegraph.
If reports are to be believed, for the golfers group, it it Jonny Bairstow, who has taken care of the arrangements.
What About Non-Golfers?
Not everyone in the team plays golf, and the likes of Mark Wood, Ben Stokes, Shoaib Bashir and Ben Foakes – have proceeded to Chandigarh, the base for the team, provided by the BCCI. They will join the team in Dharamshala on Monday, with the fifth IND vs ENG Test starting the next day.
Meanwhile, given the cold conditions, Team England might be tempted to play Gus Atkinson in the series they’ve already lost. It also remains to be seen whether James Anderson would feature in match, given the quads strain he had suffered in the last match in Ranchi.
