Defending champions England have had a roller coaster of a T20 World Cup campaign so far. Jos Buttler and co. did the seemingly impossible as they became the first side to make it to the semi-finals. One could hardly predict this would happen, given how England performed in the group stage of the tournament.

England had a rather average campaign during the group stage of the campaign where they finished 2nd in Group B. They managed to win just two games while losing to Australia and a tie being called off due to rain. Despite a shaky start, England picked up momentum as the Super 8 stage neared and put up clinical performances to seal their spot in the next stage.

England started off their Super 8 campaign on a victorious note by defeating West Indies by 8 wickets. South Africa stunned Buttler and co. in the very next game, snatching victory from their jaws as England failed to chase down a total they had in their bag.

In a remarkable turnaround, the defending champions ended their Super 8 campaign in an emphatic fashion with a 10-wicket victory over co-hosts USA to secure a spot in the semi-finals. England will be on the hunt for their third T20 World Cup title.
