England Playing XI: Ben Stokes names Unchanged Squad for 5th Ashes Test

England have named an unchanged 14-member squad for the 5th Ashes Test at the Oval, London, with the series on the line.

England have named their squad for the fifth and final Ashes Test at the Oval. The series, which Australia leads by 2-1, will be concluded in London and will be the final straw for Ben Stokes and Co. after Australia retained the Ashes after the fourth Test was drawn at Old Trafford due to persistent rain. With the series on the line, Stokes has decided to make no changes to the squad despite a lackluster performance by James Anderson and fitness concerns with Ollie Robinson.

Australia, on the other hand, hasn’t named its squad yet. However, one can expect the Aussies to make a few changes in their Playing XI after they retained the Ashes at the end of the 4th Test.

Bowling all-rounder Michael Neser can come in for Cam Green after the all-rounder was outperformed with the bat by Mitchell Marsh. Off-spinner Todd Murphy may also be included due to him being the lone spinner in the squad, while David Warner may find himself left out as well, with Marcus Harris replacing him as the opener.
