The England cricket team need 332 runs to win the India vs England 2nd Test. Can Ben Stokes and Co. chase down 399 runs and break the record for the highest ever successful Test chase in India? After seeing what Bazball did to India in the first Test of the series, no one can rule the visitors out of the match.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan also backed the Ben Stokes led side. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the cricketer turned commentator stated that although England might not win in Vizag tomorrow, the brand of cricket they play (Bazball) make them one of the most watchable teams. He wrote:
What Vaughan iterated is more true than false. England’s new way of playing under Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes has made every Test they play interesting. Since Stokes and McCullum took over, they have been the most successful team in Test cricket (in terms of wins).
While the term ‘Bazball’ has been accredited to them, their approach isn’t about playing aggressive cricket but backing your instincts as a cricketer and playing without fear.
Stokes and McCullum have, by and large, been successful in what they intended to do. With almost the same set of players as they had before, they have won in Pakistan, drawn a series in New Zealand, drawn the Ashes against WTC champions Australia, and are now 1-0 against India.
