ENG-W defeat IND-W 1st T20: Rain play spoilsport as England women defeat India women by 18 runs (DLS Method)- Harmanpreet Kaur and Co lost the first T20I against England women by Duckworth-lewis method as rain played spoilsport. India were struggling at 54/3 in 8.3 overs when the rain stopped play. Shafali Verma lost her wicket for duck while Harmanpreet Kaur also perished fo 24. Adding to India woes, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur also lost her wicket cheaply.

England women have scored 177/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Natalie Sciver scored fifty (55 off 27 balls) while Shikha Pandey was the pick of the wickets. She scalped three wickets in the 19th over. Amy Jones also contributed 43 runs (27 balls) to the total.

ENG-W defeat IND-W 1st T20: Rain play spoilsport as England women defeat India women by 18 runs (DLS Method)

India women’s T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur on Thursday said because of COVID-19 she wasn’t able to prepare for the ODI series and will showcase a different approach in the T20 leg.

Earlier, the one-off Test between India and England had ended as a draw after Sneh Rana and Taniya Bhatia showed spirit with the bat. The lower-order rose up to the challenge and in the end, India walked away with a draw.
