ENG vs PAK 3rd T20I called off following rain in Cardiff, T20 WC preparation of both teams take huge hit

The two teams of players had to wait impatiently at the Sophia Gardens because of a continuous period of rain in Cardiff, which prevented the toss from even happening.

The third match in the four-match T20I series of ENG vs PAK was called off due to rain in Cardiff on Tuesday, May 28, which severely hampered England and Pakistan’s T20 World Cup preparations. Because of the rain-related cancellation of the first Twenty20 International in Leeds, the two teams have not played competitive cricket since May 26.

No play at all

The two teams of players had to wait impatiently at the Sophia Gardens because of a continuous period of rain in Cardiff, which prevented the toss from even happening. Notably, Jos Buttler, the captain of England, was absent because he took time off after the birth of his third child.

T20 WC preparation in jeopardy?

It’s interesting to note that neither England nor Pakistan have any warm-up matches planned for the T20 World Cup, which begins in the USA and the West Indies on June 1. They, along with New Zealand, were one of the three teams that skipped the official warm-up prior to the main event.

Therefore, England and Pakistan will be hoping that the fourth T20I, which is slated to take place on Thursday at London’s Kennington Oval, doesn’t get interrupted by bad weather. But Thursday’s forecast in the nation’s capital isn’t looking good either.
