England

England have revamped their Test squad and have announced Ben Stokes as their new captain. The three Lions are coming off a 1-0 Test series loss against West Indies. England squad was different with their two talismanic pacers James Anderson and Stuart Broad not being part of the team. Stokes has said during an interview that he wants Anderson and Broad back.

At the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table England are placed languishing at the bottom of the points table with 18 points and a win percentage of just 12.50.

New Zealand

New Zealand are coming off a 1-1 series draw against South Africa. In the preceding series against Bangladesh also New Zealand tied the series 1-1. In both the Test series skipper, Kane Williamson was missing due to an elbow injury. The right-hand batter is now fit and will take over leadership reins from Tom Latham.

Trent Boult will also return to the Test team after missing both series due to the birth of their child. Henry Nicholls just picked up a calf injury during training and it remains to be seen if regains fitness before the New Zealand Test series.
