Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan on Thursday had a day to forget as Pakistan lost the final T20I against England. England were by far the better team in the ENG vs PAK 4th T20I, winning the tie by 7 wickets. Azam Khan scored a duck and missed two catches in the tie, leaving himself vulnerable to criticism. Netizens slammed Azam for the performance, with criticism ranging from memes to accusation of nepotism ringing galore on social media.

The 25-year-old departed without troubling the scorers while batting and dropped a simple catch of Will Jacks, which prevented Haris Rauf from getting a wicket. Jacks had nicked a delivery that was back of a length in the ninth over of the innings. Azam Khan could not catch the ball even as it came at a comfortable height, and he was unable to do so on the second try as well. Nevertheless, Rauf dismissed the right-hander for 20 off 18 deliveries in his very next over.

However, the Pakistan cricket fans were not happy with Azam’s performance as criticised the fitness level of the wicketkeeper.
