Former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan on Thursday weighed in on the controversy involving English players that are leaving IPL 2024 to be a part of the England squad ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Pathan, much like another Indian great Sunil Gavaskar, was simple on his opinion. He asked the departing players to either come for the whole season or not come at all.
Irfan Pathan‘s response follows the English board asking all it’s players to join the team ahead of the T20 World Cup. Most of the players, excluding the likes of Phil Salt who’s team KKR have already qualified for the playoffs, are either returning home or leaving for USA where they will directly join their team. Sam Curran on Wednesday confirmed he and Jos Buttler will leave for USA in the coming days.

Pathan had a clear view on the debate raging for the past few days. “Either be available for full season or don’t come!” he wrote on X (previously Twitter).
Former Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar had offered his views on the controversy earlier, claiming that the BCCI should punish the players who are leaving IPL and cut the 10% fees of ECB that the cricket board gets from each player playing IPL.
