“The feeling has not yet sunk in, it’ll take time. It’s hard for me to come out with a lot of expression but I’m really proud of the bunch. We’ve been through a lot of ups and downs in the tournament but the way they have stuck in and got us through the line was just amazing to watch,” Mandhana said.
Mandhana also emphasized on peaking at the right time in these kind of tournaments.
“The Bengaluru leg was really good, we won three out of five. Then we came to Delhi and had two tough losses. But we spoke about peaking at the right time and we treated the last matches as quarters, semis and final and we saved the best for the last,” Mandhana said.
“For RCB, this trophy means a lot more. To win this for RCB is a really big thing for me. This win is definitely right up there. I have a message for RCB fans. It is the most loyal fanbase. There’s one statement that comes up with RCB’s name. ‘Ee sala cup namde’ Now they can finally say, ‘Ee sala cup Namdu!” Smriti signed off.
