Ecstatic Sarfaraz Khan reacts to maiden India call up for IND vs ENG 2nd Test

With KL Rahul and Rvaindra Jadeja sideline, Sarfaraz Kahn earned his dream call up for Indi in IND vs ENG 2nd Test

Sarfaraz Khan is riding high on excitement following his eagerly awaited maiden Test call-up. The 26-year-old cricketer joins Rohit Sharma’s Test squad as one of the three replacement players for the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in the ongoing 5-match series, scheduled to commence on February 2.

Sarfaraz shared a heartwarming Instagram story featuring a cheerful photo with his father. Accompanied by the celebratory song ‘Badal Pe Paon Hain’ from the Bollywood film Chak De India, the post encapsulates the thrill of this significant moment in his career.

The absence of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja due to injuries has created opportunities for Sarfaraz Khan, along with Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar. Furthermore, Virat Kohli’s withdrawal from the first two Tests adds to the openings in the batting order.

As the 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam approaches, Sarfaraz finds himself in contention for a spot in the playing XI. Competing with Rajat Patidar, the Madhya Pradesh batter, Sarfaraz aims to make a memorable Test debut, especially with KL Rahul having occupied the No. 4 position in the absence of Virat Kohli during the first Test.

Notably, his family is basking in cricketing glory, with his brother, Musheer Khan, delivering standout performances in the U19 World Cup. Sarfaraz’s recent stellar form in unofficial Test matches and remarkable Ranji Trophy statistics further underscore his readiness for the challenges ahead.
