It has become regular feature in Indian domestic cricket, to talk about the batter from the Khan family. For a few years on the trot, elder brother Sarfaraz Khan tormented the bowlers as he piled on runs in home competitions at an average over 70. And now it is the younger sibling, Musheer Khan, who has continued the legacy. In the Duleep Trophy match between IND A and IND B, the batter slammed 181 from 373 deliveries, at a time when his side was reduced to 94/7.
He added over 200 runs from there on, along with bowler Navdeep Saini, who also went on to score a fifty eventually. But that contribution from Musheer really ensured, that IND B could actually put up a fight in the match.
Musheer Khan Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Record
En route his masterful innings, Musheer surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of over 30 years. His score of 181 is now the third-highest by a teenager on Duldeep Trophy debut, surpassing Tendulkar’s 159. The first two on the list are Babar Aparajith and Yash Dhull.
