Duleep Trophy: 76-run victory for India B as no one barring KL Rahul stands out for India A

Musheer Khan has earned himself the 'Player of the Match' award for his 181 in the first innings. A great moment for the 19-year-old. The young man will get many more awards in the future, that's sure.

My preparation was really good with my father. I had done well in Ranji (Trophy), so I knew I could get an opportunity here. Every ball I was encouraging him (Navdeep Saini) from the non-striker's end to play it out. I think it was only the first or second time for me to take catches at short leg.

A great piece of fielding from Musheer Khan ends the match. A venomous short one from Navdeep Saini hits Akash Deep on his bat handle. Unsure where the ball was, Akash wandered out of the crease, and Musheer at short leg pounced on the opportunity to run him out.

The short ball ploy from Navdeep Saini finally works. Avesh Khan edges a short one down the leg to Pant, and 9 wickets go down. Just one ball before, Sai Kishore had dropped Akash Deep, but Saini struck on the very next ball.

Washington Sundar lures Kuldeep Yadav to hit a drive and gets his wicket. Kuldeep was doing so well defending. Now India B are just 2 wickets away. 

Well, it looked like things would wrap up early, but Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep aren't ready to leave yet. They've added 29 runs together. Kuldeep's doing what he does best—blocking while Akash's whacking the ball from the other end. 31 overs are still left in the day. 

Surely, India B have sealed the match here. Mukesh Kumar has gotten the big fish, KL Rahul, with an off-cutter. Having hit a boundary on the previous ball, Rahul, wanted to stamp his authority. He went for a cut but the lack of speed did him and Pant pocket an easy catch to his right. 

A slow start from India A (KL Rahul) in the last session of the last day's play. Still 39 overs left and 138 runs needed, but just 4 wickets in hand. It all depends on if Kuldeep Yadav can hang on, because KL Rahul might need to go into lockdown mode if wickets tumble on the other end. 

And the players take tea. So Kuldeep and Rahul have weather the storm quite well. One word for the chinaman, he faced 30 deliveries, but showed that he is a much-improved batsman now. IND A 132/6 and need 143 runs more.

Rahul has shown has class here. While the wickets were falling from the other end, he has struck a resilient 50. He seems to have sealed his spot for Bangladesh Test.  IND A 132/6.
