Despite ending his international career, Dhoni has been a prominent figure in the IPL since its start in 2008. Meanwhile, Piyush Chawla is another veteran who remains active in the IPL. Recently, during a podcast, Chawla was playfully asked who would retire first—Dhoni or himself. Chawla responded with “Mahi Bhai,” hinting that Dhoni’s retirement could be approaching.

Should Rohit Sharma continue at MI?

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) player Pragyan Ojha has shared his thoughts on Rohit Sharma’s future with the franchise. Ojha, who won two IPL titles with MI and played alongside Rohit for four years, believes Rohit should remain with MI. In an exclusive chat with Insidesport, Ojha emphasized that parting with Rohit would be challenging for MI. He praised Rohit’s growth as both a captain and player, expressing his personal view that Rohit should continue with the franchise into IPL 2025.

Ishan ‘comeback’ Kishan

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan made a stunning return to first-class cricket with a masterful century for India C. He was a last-minute inclusion in the squad after initially being left out, following an injury that kept him from the Duleep Trophy opener. Kishan reached his half-century in just 48 balls, dominating early with boundaries. Kishan took charge and continued his aggressive play, reaching his fifty shortly after lunch on Day 1. He slowed down as he approached his century, eventually completing it with 14 fours and 2 sixes, alongside Baba Indrajit, who also scored a fifty. With Kishan’s contribution, IND C’s score after Day 1 read 357/5 in 79 overs.

Jay Shah assures Bangladesh cricket

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president, Faruque Ahmed, has received assurances from the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, regarding the security of the Bangladesh cricket team’s upcoming tour of India. Despite initial opposition from a nationalist group, the BCB is confident in the security arrangements and will proceed with the tour.
