Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav’s early India debut dreams were dashed by an injury during IPL 2024. His club coach, Devendra Sharma, revealed that the fiery bowler is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy to recover from the injury. Despite being close to full fitness, Yadav’s coach confirmed that he was advised to focus on white-ball cricket for now and avoid the physical demands of the Duleep Trophy. Sumit Antil – Another Gold!
Sumit Antil continued India’s golden streak at the Paris Paralympics, winning the gold medal in men’s javelin throw. The Haryana-based athlete defended his Paralympic title with a Paralympics record throw of 70.59 meters. This was India’s third gold medal at the games, following victories by Nitesh Kumar in badminton and Avani Lekhara in shooting. Apart from this Suhas Yathiraj won Silver Medal in para-badminton, while Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar won Bronze by a whisker in mixed doubles compound archery event.

Nitesh Kumar scripted history by clinching India’s first-ever gold medal in badminton at the Paris Paralympics. The Haryana-based shuttler overcame a tough challenge from Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell in a thrilling three-set final. Kumar’s victory marked India’s second gold medal at the ongoing games, following Avani Lekhara’s earlier triumph in shooting. Sumit Antil bagged the third Gold. Apart from this, discus thrower Yogesh Kathuniya won a silver medal for India in the men’s discus F56 final.

Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has predicted a 3-1 victory for India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia. Gavaskar believes that Australia’s batting woes, particularly in the middle order, make them vulnerable to India’s strong bowling attack.
