As the IPL 2025 Retention deadline draws near, reports continue to emerge as to which team would retain their superstars. But in an unfortunate turn of events, KL Rahul has decided that he doesn’t want to continue with Lucknow Super Giants. On the other hand, Washintong Sundar bagged a 7-fer on his return to Test cricket. India Women’s Cricket Team inflicted a crushing defat against New Zealand at home while Real Madrid face a crisis laden with injuries right before the El Clasico.

Washington Sundar bags 7-wicket haul

Washington Sundar made a comeback to Test cricket after 3.5 years. And the impact that he had was immediate. The all-rounder wove his magic with the ball in the IND vs NZ 2nd Test Day 1 in Pune. The off-spinner tore through New Zealand’s defense and he claimed his first fifer in Test cricket. Washington went even further to bag a 7-wicket haul to completely disrupt Kiwi’s batting order.

KL Rahul refuses LSG Retention

It might be the end of the road for KL Rahul in Lucknow Super Giants. As per latest reports, the LSG team sat down with their captain ahead of the IPL 2025 Retention Day. But it was revealed that the player himself is unwilling to continue his stay with the Lucknow outfits. Rumours of a rift between the player and board was evident, but no it seems that that the player himself wants to step down and leave the team.

India Women’s Cricket Team register dominant win

The India Women’s Cricket Team successfully took revenge on the White Ferns from their loss in the T20 World Cup. Smriti Mandhana and Co registered a dominant 59 run win over Sophie Devine’s New Zealand in the 1st ODI match. A complete all-rounder performance, coupled by flashing debuts from Tejal Hasabnis and Saima Thakor powered the hosts to a sublime win.

Can India outclass New Zealand?

The India Cricket Team took on the Kiwis for the second Test in Pune. The Kiwis batted first and was bowled out for a decent score of 259. Ravichandran Ashwin provided the early breakthrough with a 3-wicket haul. But the Kiwi’s back was broken by a 7-wicket haul from Washington Sundar. India ended Day 1 with a score of 16/1 and trailing by 243 runs. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma departed for a 9-ball duck.

MCA Apologises to Fans

The Maharashtra Cricket Association apologised to the India Cricket Team fans. A massive crisis and uproar broke in Pune during the IND vs NZ 2nd Test where fans cried for water. The MCA promised free water, but there was scarcity. Around 20 people were taken to the hospital kiosk after being dehydrated. Now after the day, MCA had apologised and claimed more water will be provided to the fans starting from Day 2.

Injury blow to Real Madrid before El Clasico

The El Clasico – Real Madrid vs Barcelona clash is just round the corner. And ahead of this crucial La Liga encounter Los Blancos have been dealt with a couple of injury concerns. Ace goalie, Thibaut Courtois suffered a left adductor injury and is expected to miss the clash of the heavyweights. Adding more concerns will be the absence of forward Rodrygo. The Brazilian is expected to miss 3 weeks of action after suffering a muscle injury during the UCL Clash. He too will be missing the El Clasico
