March 17 was all about the Indian Premier League (IPL). We got an update on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav. Delhi Capitals (DC) announced their vice-captain for the IPL 2025 season. Virat Kohli backed his Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar as well.
But the most important of them all was that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the information regarding the IPL 2025 captains meet. In other news, Harry Brook’s England teammates spoke on his IPL ban, and lastly, Rohit Sharma protected his daughter from trouble.

LSG pacer Mayank Yadav bowling again
LSG fans shall rejoice. Their express pacer, Mayank Yadav, has started bowling once again. Currently, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Mayank hit the nets. He didn’t seem to be bowling at full tilt, but him even throwing down some balls is a positive update. To know when he’ll join LSG for the IPL 2025 season, read more here.

Rohit Sharma saves daughter Samaira
Rohit Sharma is a team man on the field and a family man off it. The Indian captain who arrived from the Maldives to Mumbai wasn’t too pleased with the paparazzi. Rohit’s daughter Samaira didn’t seem to like the press clicking her images and therefore Rohit had to step in and tell them to respect some boundaries.

IPL 2025 captains meet details out
The IPL 2025 captains meet will take place just two days before the tournament kicks off, on March 20. This customary event sees all the skippers come together at the same time. There will be a photo shoot with the IPL 2025 trophy, and the captains will also be informed about the changes that will come into effect this year.

Delhi Capitals’ announce vice-captain
Surprise, surprise! DC has named their new vice-captain, and it isn’t KL Rahul. After deciding to pick Axar Patel as their captain, DC has chosen former RCB captain Faf du Plessis as his deputy for the IPL 2025 season. The decision makes sense if you consider that Rahul denied a leadership role as per reports.

Rajat Patidar to follow Kohli’s legacy
Virat Kohli, who’s RCB’s most successful and longest-serving captain, thinks that new skipper Rajat Patidar will lead the most popular IPL franchise for a long time. Kohli urged fans to keep supporting Patidar with all they have got at the RCB unboxing event, which was taking place at the M. Chinnasamy Stadium.

Harry Brook deserved to be banned
Harry Brook’s former England teammate, Moeen Ali, thinks that the BCCI was right in banning the youngster from the IPL for 2 years. For the unaware, Brook had pulled out of the 2025 season without citing a proper reason, and therefore, with the new rule set in place, he has been barred from the league for 2 years.
