Morne Morkel won’t be India’s bowling coach for the Sri Lanka tour. Reports say the South African star will join later, presumably from the Tests against Bangladesh. In the meantime, Sairaj Bahutule steps up as interim coach. The 51-year-old spin specialist is a familiar face, currently working with VVS Laxman at the NCA and having experience with the Indian team previously. Bahutule takes the reins for the Sri Lanka series, offering his expertise to the Gautam Gambhir-coached unit.

VVS Laxman to LSG?

VVS Laxman might be swapping his NCA role for a coaching stint with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) next IPL season. Reports suggest Laxman’s time at the NCA is ending in September, and the LSG management is keen to have him on board. Interestingly, LSG’s current head coach, Justin Langer, might stay despite their below-par performance last year.
